Due to a change to the Mac Address settings for the SM-L200 we ask that you update to the latest SDK releases so that your customers are not affected by any of the changes.
A closer look at the changes
StarPRNT SDK has unique functions such as “Star printer search function” and "rejection function" to identify and connect to the printer. To perform these search and rejection functions Android and Windows SDK's detect the printer using the vender IDs* of Mac Address.
*The vender ID means first 3 bytes of Mac Address (of 6 bytes).
The initial quota of serial (User Fields) that were allocated have been used so a second vender ID has been allocated. The new 3 bytes of the Mac Address will begin 34-81-F4.
This applies to any SM-L200 units manufactured after November 2016. Although these are not in circulation as of today, it can be expected that they will be soon.
